In 1999, Garry Heitz made a decision that would shape the next three decades of his life. With experience in tree care, a single truck, and an unwavering commitment to quality, he launched Heitz Tree Service from right here in Vineland, New Jersey.
The early years weren't easy. Building a reputation takes time, and Garry knew that every job—no matter how small—was an opportunity to prove himself. He answered every call personally, showed up when he said he would, and never left a property until the customer was completely satisfied.
Word spread. Neighbors told neighbors. One satisfied customer led to five more. By 2005, Heitz Tree Service had expanded to serve all three South Jersey counties—Atlantic, Cumberland, and Gloucester—with a growing fleet of equipment and a team that shared Garry's values.
Today, we've served over 20,000 customers, but we've never lost sight of what made us successful in the first place. This is still a family business. Garry is still personally involved in every major project. And we still treat every property like it belongs to a neighbor—because in South Jersey, it probably does.

With 26 years of hands-on experience in South Jersey, Garry has seen every type of tree challenge imaginable. From hurricane-damaged oaks to disease-threatened maples, from delicate ornamental pruning to complex removals near power lines—he's done it all, and he's trained his team to meet the same standards.
But what sets Garry apart isn't just his technical expertise. It's his genuine care for his customers and their properties. He still personally visits every major job site, still answers questions from homeowners who called him years ago, and still takes pride in every tree his company touches.
